Australia and USA FlagThe United States is Australia’s most important economic partner and closest security ally.

The US is Australia’s third largest two-way trading partner in the goods and services market and the major source of foreign investment.

In 2005-06 Australia's merchandise exports to the US rose by 3.4 per cent to $9.77 billion. Australia's services exports in 2005-06 were $A5.35 billion, an increase of 5.7 per cent, and imports totalled $A7.07 billion.
