A booming oil, gas and mining industry, tourism, defence, tropical knowledge, and agribusiness – particularly live cattle exports – are the key sectors of the burgeoning Northern Territory economy.

Darwin, the Northern Territory’s capital, is well positioned to play a pivotal part in Australia’s future growth. The recent completion of the 3,000 kilometre transcontinental railway from Adelaide to Darwin, and the East Arm Wharf facility at the Port of Darwin, have helped to create a new and easy trade route between Asia and south-eastern Australia.  A new business park, including a logistics facility, is also up and functioning.
