BoxSentry was founded in 2003 with the primary objective of addressing email authentication, anti-spam and security (anti-virus and anti-malware) issues for enterprise and government customers in non-English speaking markets, including those in Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai market places.
The BoxSentry solution, 'RealMail' is an email authentication and security system, which has been designed to eliminate spam, viruses and other security threats whilst ensuring that legitimate emails are always delivered.
BoxSentry has US, EU and Australian patents over RealMail, which has the following unique features and benefits:
- Full Arabic language capability
- Complete protection of legitimate email in most languages
- Elimination of the risk of lost emails (~0% false positives (ie. error rate) - no 'email casualties' and 'email refugees'
- Extremely high spam block rates (~98%+)
- Complete protection of privacy – no filtering of content or keywords used
- Virus and malware elimination
- Complete bulk pornography blocking
- Over 50%+ reduction in bandwidth and infrastructure costs for users
Traditional anti-spam products typically use filtering to determine whether an email is spam but filtering is based on probability which can and does lead to the rejection and subsequent loss of genuine emails (false positives) – or email fatalities or casualties.
Additionally, traditional email filtering applications software may work for English language content, however is significantly less effective in non-English text and even less effective for non-Roman script (Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Arabic, etc).
RealMail is predicated on authenticating 'legitimate' email and then ‘fast tracking’ through to a user rather than trying to eliminate 'suspect' email, the preferred approach of most existing spam filtering technology. It is currently being used by ISPs, ASPs and government and enterprise customers all around the world.
